It is said that there was a big temple of Chamunda Mata in Upkeshpur presently known as Osiya situated near Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The temple was known for chamatkars and therefore everybody prayed to Chamunda Mata. During navratri, buffaloes were butchered and their flesh was offered to please Chamunda Mata. Acharya Shri Ratna Prabh Suri stopped this practice of animal killing. The goddess got angry because of this and she caused pain in the eyes of the Acharya. He did not do anything but continued with the suffering. Chamunda Mata was ashamed when she found that Acharya has not reacted to her act. She asked for forgiveness from the Acharya

MEHRANGARH FORT                     This fort is one of the largest fort in India. the fort is situated at an altitude of about 125 metres and is spread over an area of 5 sq km, with seven gates. It has been a witness to the splendor of bygone era. The beauty and the grandeur of numerous places in the fort narrate a saga of hard sandstones yielding to the chisels of skilled Jodhpur sculptures Mehrangarh literally means "Majestic Fort". It is located  at very center of the city and is visible surrounding from the city. Originally built in 1806 the fort has been added to many times since. The palaces in this fort were built in an informal pattern over several centuries. They have their own peculiar style, with narrow staircases, serving as the only means of access to the royal residences within. A collection of musical instruments, palanquins, furniture and cannons on the fort's ramparts are well - preserved.

Umaid Bhawan Palace 

This immense palace known as Chittar Palace because of the local chittar sandstone used. the only palace built in 20th century under the famine .It was built in a time of peace and is quite western in its design. It was built as a famine relief project which employment to people for 16 years. It has its own theatre, eight dining rooms, and a banquet hall which seats three hundred people. A Ball Room had been built, catering to the Westernized royal lifestyle. Much of the interior of the palace is in the art deco style. In fact, it is said to be one of the finest surviving examples of art deco in the world. Deep within the palace is an indoor swimming pool, with a mosaic of zodiac symbols. The palace now runs as a hotel, though, a part of it has been retained as a museum and part as royal residence. 

Jaswant Thada The 19th century royal cenotaph of Jaswant Thada is located north of the Mehrangarh Fort. The memorial is made of white marble and dedicated to Jaswant Singh II (1878-95), one of the most famous kings of Jodhpur. Inside, the reverent ambience is framed with several portraits of Jodhpur royalty.

Jodhpur Kaylana Lake

 This artificial lake is spread over  84 square km. Where the lake  now lies, was once an area  having palaces and gardens of  two rulers of Jodhpur. An ideal  picnic spot for tourists, this lake  offers a breathtaking view of the  sunset. At that time the sky l  Looks like a canvas splashed  with spectacular colors. Kaylana  Lake is the perfect place to relax  or have picnics. Mehrangarh Fort

The fort is situated 400 feet (122 m) above the city and is enclosed by imposing thick walls. Inside its boundaries there are several palaces known for their intricate carvings and expansive courtyards. A winding road leads to and from the city below. The imprints of cannonball hits by attacking armies of Jaipur can still be seen on the second gate. To the left of the fort is the chhatri of Kirat Singh Soda, a soldier who fell on the spot defending the Mehrangarh fort..

Umaid Bhawan Palace    

     

Umaid Bhawan Palace was called Chittar Palace during its construction due to its location on Chittar Hill, the highest point in Jodhpur. Ground for the foundations of the building was broken on 18 November 1929 by Maharaja Umaid Singh and the construction work was completed in 1943.[1] The Palace was built to provide employment to thousands of people during the time of famine.                                     

Jaswant Thada

The Jaswant Thada is an architectural landmark located in Jodhpur. It is a white marble memorial built by Sardar Singh in 1899 in memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II

Kaylana Lake

Kaylana Lake is located 8 km west of Jodhpur in Rajasthan, India. It is an artificial lake, built by Pratap Singh in 1872.Kaylana lake is situated in between igneous rock land formation .Kaylana lake

Ghanta Ghar

Mandore Garden

Mandore is an ancient town, and was the seat of the Mandorva branch of the Parihar dynasty which ruled the region in the 6th century AD by King Nahar Rao Parihar. In 1395 AD, a Mohil princess of the Parihar rulers of Mandore married Chundaji, scion of the Rathore clan of Rajputs. This was during the era of rapid ascendency of the Rathore clan, and Chundaji received Mandore in dowry. The town remained the seat of the Rathore clan until 1459 AD, when Rao Jodha, a Rathore chief who united the surrounding region under his rule, shifted his capital to the newly founded city of Jodhpur.
